VARIETY LIMITS PER HOUSEHOLD: There are limits placed on certain varieties in order to help get some of the highly sought after varieties into more hands and more gardens so that they can be enjoyed by everyone. Please respect these limits and be kind to your fellow gardeners and growers. These limits are PER HOUSEHOLD and in the event you purchase over the limit, the order will be canceled you will be refunded.

SUBSTITUTIONS: In the event a variety is lost during storage prior to shipping, you will be notified via email at the address provided at checkout and refunded to the original method of payment. We do not do substitutions.

DAHLIA VIRUS: We take the health of our stock seriously and do everything within our power to keep a healthy field. We actively cull anything that has shows symptoms of virus (viral spots, vein clearing, oakleaf pattern, stunted or unusual growth) immediately. We do not wait and feed or apply any amendments prior to culling the plants. Our tools are meticulously sanitized with a bleach solution between plants during harvesting, dividing and storage. We have a small field and do everything by hand and do not use any sort of machinery during planting, harvest, or digging. We test for TSV in the field in random samples throughout the season, but do not test for DMV.

We place a high value on the health of our ecosystem as well as the health of our plants. We do not use pesticides, herbicides or chemical fungicides in our field, but rely on a strict natural pest control program which has been highly successful in mitigating the pests that can spread virus plant to plant. With all of this being said; given the prevalence of virus, it is important to understand that we cannot guarantee with certainty that there is no dormant virus within a tuber. We only send stock from mother plants that appear healthy in our field and are in the condition that we in turn would hope to receive ourselves. We have tried to include photos for each variety that show the leaves so that you can see the condition of our plants. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out or visit The American Dahlia Society for more information on dahlias and virus.

FAQ

When will I receive my tuber order?

Tuber orders begin shipping in early to mid April once the forecast is clear of freezing temperatures. Please keep in mind we are located in Vermont, USA (Zone 5a) and our forecast has to be free of frost as well before we begin shipping.

Do you provide growing instructions?

Yes! A growing guide will be included in your order which will cover what to do when you receive your tubers as well as planting, care and storage tips. The American Dahlia Society is a wonderful resource as well.

Are items in my cart reserved?

Items placed in your cart are not reserved. Your order is only confirmed once you have checked out and receive an order confirmation email. Some varieties sell out in a matter of minutes, so please be aware that if you are trying to checkout with multiple items, some may sell out in your cart before you are able to checkout. To have the best experience, we recommend making an account prior to the sale and being ready at the time that the sale opens.

Why are there limits on certain varieties?

We place limits per household on certain varieties in order to allow for more people to have the opportunity to grow them. We believe everyone should have equal access and if you purchase over the limit or we find that bots were used in order to purchase our product we reserve the right to cancel and refund your order.

Do you ship internationally?

We only ship within the United States at this time.

Do you combine shipping?

We are working to offer combined shipping this year. We will update this page with more information prior to our 2026 sale.

Do you offer early shipping?

Unfortunately we cannot offer early shipping. We work diligently to get orders out as quickly as possible beginning in April as soon as the temperatures are safe to do so.

Are you open to the public?

While we love sharing the joy that dahlias bring, our farm is also our home and we are not open to visitors at this time. We hope to be able to offer some opportunities to visit us in the future and those will be posted on the website and Instagram.

Where do you buy your mother stock?

We only purchase our stock from other small farms here in the US, we do not purchase imported tuber clumps from larger resellers.

What if I have a problem with my order?

Please open and inspect all tuber or live plant orders immediately upon arrival and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Should you have a concern, please take photographs upon unpackaging and contact us within 7 days of receipt. We cannot offer replacements, credits or refunds after the 7 day window has passed. If you have a concern about the tuber being true to variety, please notify us by the end of the September of the purchase calendar year. We guarantee all tubers to be true to variety and have at least one viable eye.

How long have you been shipping live plants and tubers?

We are in our second year of utilizing our web storefront and we have been shipping tubers and live plants through email ordering since 2022. We are registered and inspected by the State of Vermont. We are honored and humbled by the support of our valued customers over the last few years and are deeply grateful for everyone who has supported us and welcomed our stock into their gardens.
